I told y’all before here, here and here that I had some big news coming your way. I didn’t want to give too much away until I made it official, but my contract is signed and I don’t think it gets more official then that so…
I AM MOVING!
5262 miles away
to the town of Karlsruhe, Germany to be an au pair for a year. Crazy right? I finally have an answer to the question “What are you doing next year?” and it feels awesome! Yes, I am absolutely freaking out, like beyond belief, but I am so excited and anxious to see what my next year has in store. Do not fear, I will be returning to Texas because my visa will only be a year long. And meanwhile I will be blogging about my adventures overseas while I cross some things off the bucket list along the way.
I will become member number 7 of this precious German family. Which is exciting, because being an only child sucked and now it will be like I have four younger siblings!
I will be traveling in June, like I said. Then I will just stay over there and begin my time as an au pair. I am hoping to take some German classes so I can finally be bilingual (apparently 6 years of Spanish was not enough). But, if any of you are ever in the area (and by area I mean anywhere on the continent of Europe), give me a shout out and I will do my best to come meet you. They even said I could have friends stay, pretty neat huh? Can you say Oktoberfest anyone?
