mama kommt!
MOM IS COMING! I know how to say this in German (see title) because we have to tell Liam that all the time.
Guys, things have been CARAZZZY around here. Last weekend was Bierborse, a beer festival here in Karlsruhe, and yesterday I headed up to Bad Durkheim for their annual wine festival, Wurstmarkt. They serve wine by the half liter. You can imagine how I’m feeling today. Anyways, beyond the festivals and enjoying the last few days of summer, I have been doing some mega trip planning. My mom and her friend arrive Thursday morning for her FIRST time in Europe! Needless to say, this trip has to be perfect. Momma’s gotta see what this amazing continent has to offer in just 10 days. Ok, so we aren’t covering the continent but I have a pretty good itinerary to embrace the excellent German culture while taking in the beautiful landscapes surrounding Karlsruhe.
Day 1: Karlsruhe
Days 2 & 3: Munich (and Oktoberfest!)
Day 4: Neuschwanstein Castle
Day 5: Bern, Switzerland
Day 6: Thun, Switzerland
Day 7: Baden-Baden, Germany
Day 8: Weinstrasse (Wine Road)
Day 9: Karlsruhe
Day 10: Heidelberg
We are renting a car for the trip. I love train travel, but in this case auto is the cheaper alternative. Many of these will be day trips while staying here in Karlsruhe with my family, which will be so nice. They have heard so much about each other, it is about time everyone actually gets to meet! We are also planning on cooking them a good ole Texas steak dinner, which will be cool. I hope the steaks make it through customs ![]()

omg this sounds like its going to be the most AMAZING trip! i am so so jealous. i hope you have the best time
